Abstract

In this paper we aimed at drawing up the wide range of the main emotions (joy, sadness, anger, and fear) that emerge in the version of the legend of Tristan and Isolde that Béroul proposes. More precisely, we will try to analyse how lovers and the king manifest their emotions at the body level and in speech. At the same time, we will question the semantics in which each character invests these emotions.

Abstract

Dans cette contribution nous nous proposons de dresser un répertoire des principales émotions (joie, tristesse, colère et peur) qui se font jour dans la version de la légende de Tristan et Yseut que propose Béroul. Plus précisément, nous tenterons d’analyser la manière dont les amants et le roi manifestent leurs émotions au niveau du corps et dans le discours. En même temps, nous allons questionner la sémantique dont chaque personnage investit ces émotions.
