Abstract
The present paper provides a discursive study upon the development of a Christian identity through the liturgical prayers of remembrance of the faithful that are part of the Eucharistic Liturgy attributed to Saint John Chrysostom, the most frequently celebrated in the Orthodox Church, throughout the liturgical year. The discursive analysis focuses on the French text of this sermon, as it was translated by Reverend Archimandrite Placide Deseille, one of the greatest contemporary French Orthodox theologians. This analysis is developed around the lexical and semantic study of phrases such as: “remembering in the Kingdom of God”, “the remembrance of God” and “to commemorate” being supported by a theological reflection, borrowed from another great Contemporary French theologian, secular this time, Jean-Claude Larchet.
Abstract
Cet article propose une étude discursive de la construction d’une identité chrétienne à travers les prières liturgiques de commémoration des fidèles qui font partie de la Liturgie eucharistique attribuée à saint Jean Chrysostome, la plus fréquemment célébrée dans l’Église orthodoxe, le long de l’année liturgique. L’analyse discursive porte sur le texte français de cet office, tel qu’il a été traduit par le père archimandrite Placide Deseille, l’un des plus grands théologiens orthodoxes français contemporains ; elle est construite autour de l’étude lexico-sémantique de syntagmes tels : « se souvenir dans le Royaume de Dieu », « le souvenir de Dieu » et « faire mémoire », étant appuyée par une réflexion théologique, empruntée à un autre grand théologien français contemporain, laïc cette fois-ci, Jean-Claude Larchet.
