Abstract
We are going to deal with the adaptation of the English words into Romanian literary language. In this way, we choose a number of Anglicisms from the Romanian dictionary,Marele dicþionar de neologisme, by Florin Marcu, Bucharest, SAECULUM I.O., 2002. This is the latest Romanian dictionary of neologisms. We try to follow certain criteria in our analysis: a) the phonetic adaptation of the Anglicisms; we focus on the pronunciation, the spelling and the stress of the Anglicims into Romanian literary language. b) the morphological framing of the Anglicims into Romanian. We point out general aspects concerning the grammatical categories of nouns, such as: gender, number, case and then we reveal certain features of the verbal conjugation; in the end of our paper, we try to present different characteristics of the variable/invariable adjectives etc. c) the semantic assimilation of the Anglicisms into Romanian literary language; d)/e)/f) certain types of synonyms, antonyms, paronyms and homonyms of the Anglicisms into Romanian literary language
