Abstract
Michel Tournier est un romancier très connu pour son originalité et sa profondeur dans sa création romanesque. De son premier roman Vendredi ou les Limbes du Pacifique jusqu’à son dernier roman Eléazar ou la Source et le Buisson, il présente une aventure rare et très intéressante qui a retenti et retentit encore aussi bien en France que dans le monde entier. Il a été une personne (peut-être la seule) qui a su transformer un échec inattendu à l’agrégation de philosophie en une réussite littéraire. L’œuvre romanesque de Tournier se résume en trois dimensions qui ont des rapports directs avec sa propre vie. La première est que Tournier fait appel à des procédures qui consistent à allier le hasard, la liberté et le sens. La deuxième est tout à fait liée à son intelligence qui lui permet de collectionner tout ce qui est document : histoire, science et géographie. La troisième est la mythologie qui lui permet de passer de la philosophie au roman. La lecture des romans de Tournier révèle avec des traits très précis sa vie pleine de mouvements, de hasards et de sens.

Michel Tournier is a well-known novelist and he is famous for his originality and his depth in his romantic creation. From his first novel, Friday or the Limbs of the Pacific up to his last one Eléazar or the Source and the Bush, he presents a very interesting adventure both inFrance and all over the world. He was a person (maybe the only one) who knew how to transform an unexpected failure in the aggregation of philosophy into a literary success. The romantic work of Tournier amounts in three dimensions which have direct relation with his own life. The first one is that Tournier appeals to procedures which combine the coincidence, the freedom and the meaning. The second is completely bound to its intelligence which allows him to collect all documents: history, science and geography. The third is the mythology which allows him to pass philosophy in the novel. The reading of the novels of Tournier reveals the precise lines of his life movements.
