Identities in the Balkans have been formed within the context of different cultural, linguistic, religious and written traditions. Their creation was influenced by political projects such as: Pan-Slavism, Slavophilism, Illyrianism, Uniatism, and the Balkan Federation, which had both united and divided the peoples of the Balkans.
