One of the characteristic trends of the complex and controversial phenomenon of globalization is what Roland Robertson calls ‘glocalization’, i. e. the turning of the global into the local and of the local into the global, a process whose causes are to be found not only in the economic and political sphere, but also in the cultural and technological advancements.
