SIGN AND SYMBOL IN THE INTERPRETATION OF THE DREAM

Posted On Dec 11 2017 by

My paper approaches Carl Gustav Jung’s psychoanalytical perspective on the phenomenon of dreaming and on dream’s interpretation. Preparing the theoretical context, we will first identify the main criteria to distinguish between sign and symbol, as well as the limits of other approaches of the topic. My goal is to discover the most fruitful perspective on studying the dream, in order to highlight more elements belonging to human unconscious, as this enterprise could help us know ourselves better as human beings. Afterwards, we will present some considerations about the cultural correspondences that the interpretation of this phenomenon of dreaming could help …

PSYCHOLOGY OF RELIGION IN PAUL RICOEUR’S WRITINGS

Posted On Nov 11 2015 by

My article’s topic regards the role of Paul Ricoeur’s philosophy in the theoretical clarification of symbol and symbolic function, and also his contribution to the psychology of religion. This contribution is made possible by the author’s extensive theoretical considerations about interpretation, hermeneutics and the phenomenology of religion. My approach here aims at underlining also the author’s unity of thinking through time, in all the connected issues, in his various writings.

EPISTEMOLOGICAL IDENTITY OF COMMUNICATION IN THE PUBLIC SPACE

Posted On Jul 27 2012 by

Departing from the interdisciplinary character of communication, this paper attempts to identify its epistemological identity in the public space and to analyse the defining features of this type of communication. Many experts in the field consider the epistemological status of communication to be at the centre of culture, knowledge and social behaviour. From this perspective, communication studies imply an inter-, multi-, and trans-disciplinary approach, since we cannot restrict a field with such wide application within strictly defined scientific margins. Within the typology of features that allow us to differentiate communication in the public space from other types,we find its contextual …

IDENTITY, PREJUDICE AND RELEVANCE IN THE PROCESS OF UTTERANCE INTERPRETATION

Posted On Jul 27 2012 by

The aim of this paper is to try to support the idea that past plays an esential role in the process of interpretation of a present utterance/text. Past takes the form of hypotheses, prejudices, prejudgments, ideologies, preferences, etc., stored in the mind of the interpreter, which shape her/his psychological identity. Identity can only come from the past. One’s psychological identity is the present situation of her/his stored past. It seems that in the process of interpretation one’s present self confronts one’s past self which has become the otherness of the present self. The process of interpretation is a fusion between …

LA LECTURE COMME REVELATION DANS LA POESIE DE LUCIAN BLAGA

Posted On Jul 27 2012 by

Posted On Jul 27 2012 by

Posted On Oct 20 2011 by

THE PERSPECTIVE OF SYMBOLIC ANTHROPOLOGY ON CULTURAL DIVERSITY

Posted On Oct 19 2011 by

Nowadays, cultural anthropology is constantly growing as a profound and very large theoretical domain, thus becoming the inspirational source of many different trends of thought, spreading on the social sciences and philosophy. I should say  it  also tends to replace philosophy in its own traditional role of integrating data, ideas and information coming from all the scientific spectrum, and that is because of the growing complexity of the phenomenon: philosophy needs a sort of linking discipline for that, and anthropology is the most appropriate by itself. It also seems to represent the turning point in intercultural communication theories, given the …

HERMENEUTICS. FROM INVESTIGATIO INTENTIO AUCTORIS TO INVESTIGATIO INTENTIO OPERIS

Posted On Oct 17 2011 by

Hermeneutics is the art/science of interpretation. In the act of communication there are two stages: the production of the discourse and the interpretation of the discourse. Is hermeneutics involved in any act of communication? Are there any differences between the interpretation of a written discourse (text) and the interpretation of an oral discourse? The purpose of this paper is to explore and comment upon two main approaches to hermeneutics: 1) hermeneutics aims at discovering the speaker’s/author’s communicative intention (investigatio intentio auctoris) – the discourse is interpreted in relation to its context of production; 2) hermeneutics aims at understanding the meaning …

ADJUSTING TO ONESELF AND TO THE OTHER(S)

Posted On Oct 12 2011 by

At the level of the casual conversational discourse there is always a permanent process of adjustment, based on production and interpretation. It can be defined by two components: self-adjustment and adjustment to the other. The paper tries to find answers to the following questions: When and why does the process occur? What are its linguistic and nonlinguistic markers? What are its limits? What are its benefits?
