Abstract
The paper starts from the fact that one of the main factors that influenced the result of the 2016 referendum for the British withdrawal from the European Union was the issue of massive migration to Great Britain of a great number of immigrants (especially from Eastern Europe) in their pursuit of the "British dream". The paper tries to analyze the manner in which some Vote Leave and Leave.EU posters used the politics of fear (targeting at immigrants) in the Brexit campaign, in an attempt to manipulate the British voters to vote in favour of Britain’s leaving the European Union, thus fulfilling one of Britain’s “dreams” – regaining control of immigration.
